Ski Lessons, Ski School and Guiding

Private Lessons

Private lessons are probably the best and quickest way to make the most of your holiday, and you'll soon find your technique improving no matter what level you started from. Lessons cost about 40 euros per hour for one-to-one, or about 50 euros per hour for a group of 2-4!

Group Lessons

These involve joining a group of up to 10 other people at a similar level to yourself. They are available for skiers and boarders of all abilities from 12 years and upward, and offer very good value at around 30 euros for a single class. They can also be booked in blocks of 5/6 mornings (110 euros) or mornings and afternoons (180 euros).

Children

ESF St Gervais have a great reputation for their ski-school. You'll know they're in safe hand which means that you'll be able to relax and enjoy yourself - and the kids'll have a great time too.

Ski-school begins for ages 3 and up with Club Piou Piou, and there's a progression up to ESF Gold Star, with a presentation ceremony and medals at the end of each week.

The snow garden has been designed to make children aged 3-6 feel comfortable and to keep them safe. The terrain has been specially adapted to young skiers, with researched pedagogical materials such as bumps, bridges, figurines and jumps, where they can discover skiing while they play and improve. The speed of the courses is designed with children in mind (fatigue, weather conditions, childminding) and the garden is guaranteed to be filled with snow thanks to the snow canons on the Bettex site.

Older kids get to go further afield, so remember to get their ski passes! Prices are approximately 100 euros per child for 5/6 mornings or afternoons, or 150 euros for mornings and afternoons.

Other Lessons and Guiding

ESF also do lessons in everything from telemarking to freeride boarding. Drop us or ESF an email for more info. Not yet confirmed for 08/09 season, but very popular last year, are the 'Discovery' days which feature an ESF guide or instructor taking you to another resort (Morzine/Chamonix/Grand Massif) for a full day of skiing on and off-piste. The price last season was 75 euros including lunch - but not ski passes.

Hiring a guide is the best way to see the amazing sites of the Mont Blanc region, and experience some of the best skiing conditions in the world. From St Gervais it's even only a 30 minute drive from the Aguille Du Midi and the world famous Vallee Blanch, 26km of off piste skiing on the longest glacier in Europe - definitely one to tick off.
